What is hypnotherapy?  The term "hypnosis" is derived from the Greek word hypnos, meaning "sleep." Hypnotherapists typically use exercises that bring about deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness, also known as a trance.

What is the history of hypnosis?   Throughout history, trance states have been used by shamans and ancient peoples in ritualistic activities. But hypnosis as we know it today was first associated with the work of an Austrian physician named Franz Anton Mesmer. In the 1700s, Mesmer used magnets and other hypnotic techniques (hence the word, mesmerized) to treat people, and while he achieved a number of dramatic "cures" for blindness, paralysis, headache, and joint pain, the medical community was not convinced. Mesmer was accused of fraud and his techniques called unscientific. Hypnotherapy regained popularity in the mid-1900's due in to the notoriety and career of Milton H. Erickson (1901-1980), a successful psychiatrist who used hypnosis in his practice. In 1958, both the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association recognized the therapy as a valid medical procedure.

How does hypnosis work?  When something new happens to us, we remember it and learn a particular behavior in response to that circumstance. Memories stored in our brains hold the original physical and emotional reactions that occurred when the given memory was first formed. Each time similar events occur again, the physical and emotional reactions attached to the memory are repeated. These reactions may be inappropriate or unhealthy. In hypnotherapy, the trained therapist guides you to remember the event that led to the first reaction, separate the memory from the learned behavior, and reconstruct the event with new, healthier associations.

What happens during a visit to the hypnotherapist?  During your first visit to a hypnotherapist, he or she will ask you questions about your medical history and what brought you to see them – in other words, what condition it is that you would like to clear up. The specialist will then, likely, explain to you what hypnosis is and how it works. You will then be directed through relaxation techniques with a series of mental images and suggestions intended to change behaviors and alleviate symptoms. For example, people who suffer from panic attacks may be given the suggestion that, in the future, they will be able to relax at will. The hypnotherapist will also teach you the basics of self-hypnosis and give you an audiotape for home use. This enables you to recreate the feelings you experienced during the session and reinforce the learning on your own.

How many treatments will I need? Each session lasts about an hour, and most people begin to improve within 4 to 10 sessions. Together, you and your hypnotherapist will monitor and evaluate your progress over time. Children (aged 9 to 12), because they are easily hypnotized, tend to respond after only one or two visits.

What illnesses or conditions respond well to hypnosis?  Hypnosis is used in a variety of settings – from emergency rooms to dental offices to outpatient clinics – to relieve conditions with an emotional or psychological component. Studies suggest that hypnosis may improve immune function, increase relaxation, decrease stress, and ease feelings of anxiety. Hypnotherapy is effective in reducing the fear and anxiety that accompany pain and uncomfortable medical or dental procedures. For example, when used during an operation, hypnosis may improve recovery time and decrease anxiety as well as pain following the surgery.

What is Reiki? Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy".

So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy"? A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing light that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Is Reiki Safe? Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Can I learn Reiki? An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

Is Reiki part of a Religious Belief? While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it. While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

What is Liquid Reiki? Liquid Reiki is the conception of Robin Kania and utilizes all the same principles as traditional Reiki as mentioned above, however it incorporates nature into the philosophy.  It is a proven fact that water is a conduit for energy, well then without a doubt incorporating the earths natural flowing water source while giving a Reiki session will increase the flow of the Universal Life Force Energy. The session is done with the traditional sense of laying hands on, but the table is placed in the center of a moving flow of water. The experience brings both the client and the practitioner closer to nature and increases the vibration frequency.

What is Transformational Life Coaching?

It is my opinion that Life coaching is the most significant method of personal development available today. It is effective because it: Helps to clarify their thinking, holds them accountable and provides the support and structure to achieve their goals quicker and with less pain.

The focus is the goal. However, regardless of what the goal is, it is always less important than the person.  Often a person’s goal is not really what they want. It is the best way they know, at that moment, to articulate what they do want. They will often find upon achieving it, or on the road to achieving it that they really want something else.

So life coaching is effective in helping you to get to where you are going quicker... even if it is going in a different direction while getting to your ultimate goal. It creates change in the person so that He or She never has to experience these types of problems again.

For example, a Client may want to further their career. The Coach will jump in and set up a plan to increase their effectiveness and productivity. The Client might begin to market and promote themselves more and so on.

The life-changing Coach will ask: Why the Client is not happy in their career?  Why do they want to advance? What is it that they seek from furthering their career?

These types of questions all aim to go deeper and clarify what's really going on. It is likely that they will highlight an area in the Client’s life that is causing unhappiness. The goal was really just the best way that the Client knew how to feel better. Bringing this to the attention of the Client, gives them increased choice and control over their life. The life-changing Coaches know that life is merely the manifestation of the inner world. Success is a natural extension of a peaceful and clear inner world. Life coaching is effective for both short-term and long term projects and saves time and pain for the whole of your life.

Energy Clearing Synopsis

Negative Energy is not always seen, but it is felt.  Have you ever just had that feeling you should not be somewhere or around someone.  It is most likely the energy that is being emitted from the place or person.  Have you ever felt that you have become another person for no reason or seen a loved one change over night; it could be a negative energetic influence. Moving into a new home or office is a very exciting time. One of the first things we do is buy plenty of cleaning supplies in order to cleanse the location of the former occupants’ dirt and germs, and then move our furniture and collectibles right in.

However, how many of us think about the lingering feelings and emotional energies of the previous occupant?  Who were they? What kind of life did they lead? Were they emotionally healthy?  How many people have left their energetic footprint in the residence prior to you?  In most cases you have no Idea.  Negative emotional energies remain in homes and offices long after the previous tenants have moved on.   We can't always see the negative emotional energies, but we can feel it.

The effects of negative emotional energy can affect us on many levels for example: Arguments, Anger, Depression, Dysfunctional Behavior, Mood Swings, Unhappiness, Sleep Disorders, Violence, Substance Abuse and Other Problems Can Be aggravated from the negative energies.  Negative Spirits are also attracted to negative emotional energies and feed on the tenant’s emotional state.   It is important to clear the energy to start fresh and call in positive energy for Love, Growth, Happiness, Laughter, Abundance, Comfort, Health and General Well-Being.
